2. THE FOURTH PAWA WORLD POETRY FESTIVAL
THE FOURTH PAWA WORLD POETRY FESTIVAL is meant to satisfy most practically and meaningfully that aspect of the decision by the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) which specifies that the International African Writers' Day be celebrated throughout Africa and in the International Community. Poets from various parts of the world would converge at the seat of PAWA in Ghana, to join their African colleagues to celebrate our society's moment of pause in honour of the societal essence of African Writers.
The three programmes will involve the participation of two hundred distinguished African literary personalities (poets, novelists, critics, dramatists) as well as observers from foreign Writers' Organisations from around the world.
